Frank Valerio

Hola,

I am Señor Valerio, and I am proud to be entering my 28th year as a member of the City Schools of Decatur family. Being a Spanish teacher is more than a career for me—it is truly my passion. I love sharing the languages and rich cultures of Spanish-speaking countries with my students, and I strive to create a fun, inspiring, and engaging learning environment for each and every one of them.

I was born into a close-knit family in Queens, New York, and spent part of my childhood in the Dominican Republic, where I developed my deep appreciation for Spanish language and culture. I later returned to the United States and earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester. A highlight of my academic journey was completing my Master’s degree with a concentration in Spanish Culture at the University of Salamanca in Spain.

In my free time, I enjoy international travel, bicycling, and dining out with friends. I also have two toy poodles, Romeo and Benjamin, who are truly like family to me.

I am looking forward to a wonderful and successful school year.
